Dear Alliance members, President, board members and committee members:

This is my fourth year as the webmaster.  When I first accepted this position, I was discouraged by the difficulty of the task and disappointed by the lack of interest of the website.  However, with a lot of encouragement from Cheryl, Kee, Marianne and many of you, through trial and error (and a lot of hard work), I have been transformed from a beginner with some computer skills but no knowledge about building a website, to a webmaster.  I got the hang of my job, and I even became more creative and professional at the same time. I am also happy to see the increasing interest in our website over the years. We have come a long way since I first accepted this position four years ago.  Nowadays, more people use email as their main form of contact, and our website has become a convenient way for members to learn the details of events.  I am very pleased to have witnessed the transformation of many members from being computer-illiterate to being computer-savvy.  Way to go!

I have tried to make the website as user-friendly as possible.  The website is composed of 18 main pages, and several more sub-pages.  As soon as you enter the website, you see a friendly greeting from our president on the homepage.  There is a lot of important information provided on our homepage.  I place the most imminent event at the top of the page, followed by upcoming events, and then "the events you have missed" (which you can still look into in order to learn more).  I also made easy connections for you to find MSMSA and MSMS websites by creating two extra icons designated just for them, so that you can just click and get to their websites.

There are a total 18 pages with user friendly icons to click on to switch to the page you desire to view.  Each page also provides some icons for you to switch around the website.  On the home page, along with almost every page, you can find underlined brown or highlighted phrases, which are the links you can click on, and they will take you to the sub-pages.  On each sub-page, there are pictures or a detailed story about each event.

I hope you find this information helpful and interesting.  I have spent numerous hours working on the website with a mission to raise awareness of the noble and compassionate functions of our Genesee County Medical Society Alliance.  We would like, not just our own county, but our state, and even the whole nation, to notice what we have accomplished and update them with our current endeavors.  Without the dedications of each member, board member and committee member, the Alliance would not be such a great success.  I hope that my dedication to our website will bring more attention to our contributions to society.  Through this website, everyone will see that we are not only doctors' spouses, but women and men with intelligence, compassion, and dedication to contribute to our society, as well as people who happen to love having fun and making friends!
